Recently my friend Josh and I challenged each other to take a few days and put pen to paper on some mantras and/or affirmations that reflect how we want to start our day. A mindset for crushing life, as he would say. I shared mine with him last week, and I’ve loved having them as a part of my morning routine for the last few days. Here they are:
I am:
- happy
- loved
- worthy of love
- forever a student, never a finished product
- So fucking tiny. Laughably so.
Today I will:
- Choose happiness
- Give Kayli the pure, unconditional, romantic love she deserves
- Accept reality
- Lean in to fear and adversity (“the obstacle is the way”)
- Take action (“Make better decisions by making more of them”)
- Look for the positive side in every perceived negative
- Move forward (“Take small steps, complete them, ask what I can do better, lock in gains, grow exponentially”)
- Ask questions
- Think of something I can do to help every person I meet
- Give people the benefit of the doubt
- Have difficult conversations
- Be vulnerable
Negative visualization:
(imagine losing something you cherish)
I am grateful for:
(come up with 3-5 you’re grateful for today)
Metta prayer:
May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and freedom.
